"No friction to quell the inertia,
A thin atmosphere is better than none,
An asteroid chained to the belt most shying away from the sun,
All it's known to harbor is bacteria,

Here sits the ruler,
Powerhouse of every cell,
A rule so golden and lavish,
Whatever he wills he will have it,
Move over King Midas,
Here sits King Mitochondria,

Depravity struck the man when he knew that he'd never see,
Any notion of humanity,
He felt the need to confide so he used gizmos to magnify,
The creatures lurking under the soles of his feet,
They offered him benediction by way of a microscopic crown,
The alien life set off to carve him a lounge,
He sat upon a hole filled throne and cheers were then heard all around,
Telepathically since space has no sound,

Here sits the ruler,
Powerhouse of every cell,
A rule so golden and lavish,
Whatever he wills he will have it,
Move over King Midas,
Here sits King Mitochondria,

The king began to emaciate,
Some sacrificed to form into nutrient paste,
A group set off to digest the rock for him,
Out came a mineral rich liquid,

It carried a bilge water taste,"

This one's a little short tale about an astronaut crash landing on an asteroid then becoming king of all the bacteria residing on it. There's a lot of metaphor in this one that I'm not really keen on going too in-depth with but as far as the story itself goes I'll try my best. 'He felt the need to confide so he used gizmos to magnify the creatures lurking under the soles of his feet' means that the astronaut needed someone or something to confide in his utter helplessness and loneliness so he used tools from his ship to observe for bacteria. It's intentionally ambiguous whether or not the astronaut went insane from loneliness. 'Move over King Midas, here sits King Mitochondria' means to me that anything he touches becomes metaphorically golden to the bacteria that he governs.
